The Story of the Explorers

The year 565 AD. Saint Columba has just driven a monster back into the waters of Loch Ness in Scotland. Little did he know that this would spark the biggest mystery investigations known to man. The investigation of the Loch Ness Monster.

Fast forward to the year 2042, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has begun an investigation into the Loch Ness Monster. The captain, Andy McClintock, looked out of the casement and thought to himself, I am the 21st century Jacques Cousteau. He smiled smugly while thinking this. He was wearing his old Navy dress blues because it was his only nice piece of clothing. The first mate Harry Byron, a newly reformed Christian, came up to the captain and he said, “We are ready to launch. Awaiting orders.”

They launched and the launch went smoothly. As soon as they got out into the water, the monster attacked them. They were ready and then they captured the beast with weighted nets and ray guns. The capture of the beast gaining them mass popularity.

Rad Reading – March

This month I chose Gleanings by Neal Shusterman, the fourth and final book in the Arc of a Scythe series. The book is 423 pages long and is full of exciting suspense! The plot consists of many tales from inside the Scythedom. One tale is of Scythe Charles Fields. It starts with him seeing a beautiful dog and wanting to keep it as a pet. The dog turns out to be super smart and it takes over his house. While reading this book, I never expected what was coming next and people who like suspense, I would recommend this to them. My favorite quote is on page 378 and it states, “Oh great! Another dang new order scythe!” This is my favorite quote because of its sarcasm. My favorite character is Dayne I like him because of his quick thinking. A quote that shows this is on page 400 and I quote, “Did you really just save us from a scythe?” This shows that Dayne had enough thought to make a deal with a scythe in order to save he and his friend.

Dinner Invites

If I had to invite three people for dinner and they could be anyone, my top three would be considered unorthodox or unconventional. First, I would pick Bilbo Baggins from the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit book series. The reason I would pick him is so I could hear about the tales of adventure from his life such as the tale of how he defeated Smaug the Terrible and helped the dwarves of Erebor reclaim their homeland from his talons. Next, I would pick Robert Oppenheimer so he could teach me about physics, science, and math. The reason I would ask him for this is because he is the father of the atomic bomb so if anyone knows anything about those things it’s got to be him. My last person would be Desiderius Erasmus. I would pick him so he could help my partner and I with my project on him and so he could give me a copy of his book, The Praise of Folly, in English.

Dream Job

To work for money at my dream job would be amazing! My dream job would be taking care of birds at the OC Rescue Center. They have kestrels, a bald eagle, and many more species of birds. The reason I chose this job is because of my love for birds. Birds have always been a topic of curiosity for me ever since I was young. My second reason is because that to be birds are graceful yet savage at the same time and its these qualities that also amazes me about these creatures. My third reason is because that I feel bad for the birds who have been hurt by cars, their siblings falling out of their nests, or humans. I feel bad for them and I want to help them and educate kids and adults about these magnificent creatures of the sky.

🫥

I woke up yesterday morning and I was invisible! I think I became invisible because of that hag that casted a spell on me. I thought it was all phony and blasphemy but turns out it wasn’t fake! The possibilities of what I can do are astronomical! First, I stole a car and because I was invisible the cops, who suck at their job already, could not find out who stole it. I planned to drive to about 5 miles from the White House and I walked to the south side of the fence and phased through it because it apparently came as a bonus side effect. I phased through the White House walls as well and I walked to the Oval Office. There I saw the big red button and I pressed it. The city I picked was Moscow, Russia. I launched it and the president walked in which caught me by surprise and I knocked over a vase. He saw it so I ran through him and ran to the car I stole earlier. I then drove home and decided to lay low so the Feds would not find me. That’s what happened when I was invisible.

Rad Reading – February

This month I chose The Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman for this month. The book is 504 pages long and takes place in a future where people have found a way to live forever and these select people called scythes, are trained to kill people in order to keep the population under control. Their ruler is today’s cloud but then it evolved and is now the Thunderhead.

The Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman is the second book in the Arc of a Scythe series. In a world where death is no longer a concern due to immortality, the Thunderhead—an all-powerful AI that governs humanity—keeps order. Scythes, chosen to control the population by “gleaning,” serve as the only means of death. As tensions rise between different factions of Scythes, the story follows Citra and Rowan as they struggle with their roles in a corrupt system, with the Thunderhead observing from above, yet bound by rules that prevent direct intervention. For my favorite quote I chose a quote said by Rowan Damisch who is also known as Scythe Lucifer. The trait is determined. The quote is as follows. “I do what I must, even when I don’t want to.” (Page number: 176) This quote showcases Rowan’s strong sense of duty and his resolve to carry out difficult tasks, even when they conflict with his personal feelings.

This book is amazing and it is filled with many plot twists, suspense, and drama. The book is very awesome. My favorite quote from the book is on page 349 and it states, “We have just entered the worst of all possible worlds.” This quote shows the dramatic nature of the book in one quote.

Abandoned Island Life

Life on my island that I have been calling home for so many moons now is tranquil and quiet. I landed here 40 moons ago and my memory is very foggy. The last thing I remember was a mighty storm with waves 40 feet high, striking fear into the hearts of even the bravest sailors. The waves swept me off the boat. I think the boat, which was called the Figaro and it was a true beauty with a mast 20 feet high and the length was about 55 feet I believe. I landed on a pebble covered beach on the south side of the island, which I later named Crow Beach due to the large numbers of crows around my body around the time of awakening. I walked around the island and found a small abandoned village that still had livestock, food, and the houses were upright. The village was situated in the plains part on the island on the west side. I picked a nice house and it was intact and the interior was still fringe with just a little cobwebs here and there. I quickly swept those down because of my fears of spiders and I was content. My daily routine consists of eating bread, eggs from my chickens, and water from the well. I wash my teeth with water to try to keep them clean which is followed by a walk to the north side of the island to my crop farm and harvest some grapes. Then I take a nap till afternoon and I sleep til dinner which consists of steak, corn, and bread. That is life on my island.

Stonehenge: A Gateway to Another World

In the year 1456, perplexed archeologists at Stonehenge in Salisbury Plains discovered that Stonehenge was a gateway to another world. Six centuries later, in the current year 2056, explorers Perry Walters and Donald Takei  have mounted an expedition with cutting-edge, state of the art technology which includes Heavy Duty Hover Cars (HDHC), scanners that when sent out can create a three dimensional accurate map of the surrounding subterranean territory with a range of 500 miles from origin and elfin bread where a single piece fills you up like a whole three course meal! They had planned to set out on September 19, 2056.

The day has finally come and the explorers Perry Walters and Donald Takei, are ready and rearing to go. “Are you ready Donald?” Perry asked. Donald replied with a smug grin and said, “What are we waiting for?” They both waved goodbye one last time and went into the portal between the two biggest sarsen, or sandstone stones on the outer rim and held on for dear life. The journey through the portal was weird because they had to go through a gravity inversion. The explorers and their pilot, Captain Abraham Ford, a ex-marine helo pilot, were at the mercy of the inversion of gravity. When they came out  into the subterranean world the pilot almost lost control! “Watch out for the walking landmass!” exclaimed Perry. Captain Abe swerved to the right, nearly throwing the explorers and their precious cargo all over the place! The hover car smashed into the ground in a clearing with a groan and metal twisted and buckled but suddenly, it all blacked out.

Perry awoke from a coma only knowing where he was and who he was. He looked around for Donald and the captain, Abe. During his search, he discovered that only half of the supplies had been intact and okay. He found Donald, but there was something wrong. He looked at his face and it was sheet white! “Donald! Wake up!” he said while shaking him. But he wouldn’t come to. He then realized he was dead. He searched around for the captain only to find he was dead too. With only the supplies and the elfin bread, he set out into the unknown of the dangerous subterranean world. He looked for shelter until he found an underground civilization! He decided to ask for help, but he thought to himself, what if they were hostile? He decided to ask for help and if they were hostile, he would run into the jungle. “Help! Help!” he shouted helplessly. A native looked out the window and saw him. The native shouted at him in his native language which he could not understand, but he could tell by his body language that he was telling him to come into his house. He realized he didn’t have a translator but fortunately the native spoke English.

The native asked, “Are you a man from the above world?” Perry replied, “Yes, my crew and fellow explorer came down but hey both died in the crash in which stranded me here.” The native looked at him with sad eyes and said, “I am from there too.” Perry looked at the man in astonishment. Finally able to get out a response he said, “You are Ferb Eaton, the lost explorer from Ireland?” After being silent for a couple moments, he said “Yes I am.”

“Holy sweet Mary mother of God!” Perry exclaimed! He sat down on the makeshift couch made out of some type of rough skin of a giant mammal. “Where did this skin come from?” Perry asked. Ferb replied with, “A mothwalker. A carnivorous flying moth that has a 20 foot wingspan and can eat a man whole.” Perry was stricken with fear at the news that those types of creatures out here. “What other creatures are out here?” Perry asked. Ferb replied with, “There is the skinchanger, the name is pretty self-explanatory, wendigos and yes the same ones that you think of up there are really down here, and watercrocs, giant 77 foot long crocodiles that can eat anything.”

They ventured back to the wrecked hover car and fixed it and went back to the surface bringing back Ferb and they got a whole lot of publicity for the expedition and he paid his respects to Donald’s family. The End.

Dumbledore Quote

My favorite quote is from Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and he says, “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn in the light.” This quote is meaningful to me because it is a great piece of advice. This quote is relates to me because sometimes I need to remember happy memories when I am sad.

Person I Admire

The people that are my role models is my parents. One reason for that is because he built his business, Portview Preparatory, from the ground up and now with his business he is helping kids with special needs so they can have the best possible opportunities in life. My second reason is for my mom is that she works so hard to give me the best life possible and I am very grateful for that. My third reason is that they both talk things out and try to come to a consensus and they are so supportive that I feel like they have my back no matter what.
